Our Values

Alignment
We value alignment on a single definition of success. We value efforts and reward outcomes, focusing on tangible wins versus symbolic victories.

Get to “Yes”
We value a Can-Do attitude, creative problem solving, and transformative thinking. If we’re doing something the same way as several years ago, there likely is a better way to do it. We believe there is more than one way to achieve a goal.

Accountability
We own our work like a small business owner would (“I’m away, but I made sure the store opened.”). We plan, communicate, and stay connected as a team.

Low Ego Leadership
We collaborate with and learn from our partners. We value diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. We channel our personal ambitions toward Redwood’s goals – we win when Redwood wins.

Empowerment
We value confident decision making. We leverage committees to share information and empower decisions, not to mask indecisiveness. We confront thorny issues as a team, with care.

Community
We show up for each other. We embrace Redwood’s long history of supporting our people. We provide support, feedback, and long-term opportunities to our team members.

Our People

Redwood people are a group of talented individuals who are central to fulfilling our corporate mission, which is to make quality housing, whether rented or owned, accessible to all American households. We recognize that our people are our greatest asset and we are proud to hire, develop and retain exceptionally talented individuals with a variety of expertise.

Our goal is to support our employees in thriving personally and professionally and we are committed to best-in-class human capital practices that have a positive impact on shareholders, our company, our people, and the communities in which we do business.

The diverse experiences and backgrounds of our people are a key component to fostering a strong culture and driving organizational performance. We are committed to nurturing a collaborative and inclusive environment where everyone is valued and respected.

EMPLOYEE GROUPS

Our employee led groups are open to all employees and offer a way to get involved and contribute to Redwood’s culture. Our Employee Foundation, Diversity Council, and TogetHER groups play an important role in organizing inclusive employee events and giving back to our local communities.
